The inaugural edition of “Cairo Pro-Meet,” part of Cairo Industry Days, witnessed extraordinary demand from filmmakers participating in the Cairo Industry Days events, with all booking slots selling out in less than 12 hours from the opening of registration. This reflects the high enthusiasm the program has generated since its first launch earlier this year.
Cairo Pro-Meet takes place during the seventh edition of Cairo Industry Days and alongside the Cairo Film Market, organized as part of the 46th Cairo International Film Festival from November 12 to 21, 2025. The program offers an innovative professional platform that brings together filmmakers and industry experts across production, distribution, and festival fields for one-on-one meetings, fostering new collaborations and the development of Arab and international film projects.
In his remarks on the occasion, renowned actor Hussein Fahmy, President of Cairo International Film Festival, said: “At CIFF, we strive to make the festival a comprehensive platform beyond film screenings, expanding to support and develop the industry. ‘Cairo Pro-Meet’ is a new step in this direction, placing filmmakers at the heart of genuine professional dialogue with experts, offering a rare chance to broaden international cooperation. The sell-out on the first day confirms the real thirst for such initiatives, and I am pleased that Cairo was its first launch site.”
Mohamed Sayed Abdelrahim, Director of Cairo Industry Days, added: “Cairo Pro-Meet was one of our main bets this year. Establishing it has been a personal dream for a long time. I always saw a real gap between filmmakers and experts worldwide; many directors and producers in the region were unaware these experts existed or, if they knew them, lacked direct contact channels.
